Punta Prima Beach
If you fancy an all over tan when visiting Orihuela Costa then head for Punta Prima Beach. Marking the border between Orihuela Costa and Torrevieja, the residential area of Punta Prima enjoys a coastal setting made up of a series of small secluded bays and rocky coves connected by a lovely coastal path that makes its way through the entire beach areas of Orihuela Costa.
Punta Prima Beach Amenities
Beginning at the excellent Nautilus Restaurant that boasts a front line position, with large terraces overlooking the sea and an extensive menu featuring many delicious fish and seafood dishes, the series of bays and coves stretch southward. The first kilometre of coastline is the most popular, especially with resident expats who seem to have made the two Sunrise Beach Bars their local hangout. This is due partly to their wonderful setting with large seating areas on the sand and partly due to the great value pints of beer at 1,50€ and regular live music.
This part of Punta Prima Beach is family friendly and you won't see any nude bathers so is fine to visit with children who will have an exciting time exploring the numerous coves and rock pools. Continuing further along the coastal path the landscape is fairly barren and rugged with a series of small cliffs where the nudist beach is located but, being part of the coastal path, you are not obliged to immediately whip your clothes off 🙂
A short walk up from the beach area is the popular Punta Prima Strip that's lined with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants where you will find one of the best coffees in the area at Marco Polo. Across from the strip is the Punta Marina Commercial Centre that offers a further choice of dining options, the most popular being Captain's Table and the 24hr McDonald's take away.
