Stand Up Paddle

Visiting the beautiful Costa Blanca offers holidaymakers a superb choice of activities and with its diverse coastline, water sports such as stand up paddle (SUP) are a popular way to explore the rocky coves, soaring cliffs and tranquil bays. This relatively new water sport first became popular in Hawaii but the concept has been around for centuries, used by African and South American tribes to propel their dug out canoes.

Once riders are proficient on their boards, there are a number of variations of stand up paddle that can be enjoyed such as lake racing, whitewater rapid SUP, wave surfing, fishing or simply exploring beautiful lakes and coastlines. Stand up paddle boards are similar in shape to a surf board but generally a lot wider and longer, allowing for the increased stability needed when standing on a board. Paddles simply consist of a handle, shaft and blade. Holidaymakers visiting the Costa Blanca have a choice of locations where they can try their hand at SUP.
