Slightly inland on the Costa Blanca and bordering the towns of Rojales and Quesada is the superb Aqua-Park Rojales. Set in pleasant parkland occupying an area of over 20,000 sq/m with gardens, pools, terraces, children's lake, restaurants and shady picnic areas, the park offers thrilling slides and fun adventures to suit all ages.
What I find unusual about the park is that visitors are free to bring their own food to eat in the picnic areas provided (glass not allowed), something that is strictly forbidden in most aqua and theme parks who make a good deal of their annual revenue on the vastly overpriced food and drinks served in their restaurants, bars and snack kiosks.
Aqua-Park Rojales Attractions
Kamikaze – The park's fastest slide featuring 2 wide chutes that head straight downhill with humps along the way where riders have enough room to perform spins on the way down.
Magic Carpet – Situated next to Kamikaze but not as long and steep, where 4 chutes with humps along the way allow riders to race each other.
Rio Yukatan – This is a pleasant wide slide that meanders its way through a series of rapids and pools where riders use tubes and adults are allowed to take young children.
Zig Zag – A collection of 3 individual slides full of humps, drops, twists and turns with high sides to give the feeling of tobogganing when entering a turn.
Amazon – Conveniently located below the chill out terrace, this is a great area to while away the day and take a rest from the excitement, with a main pool, mini slides and fountains.
Lake Children – Similar to Amazon but targeted more towards the young ones with colourful mushroom fountains, islands and gentle slides.
