Torrevieja Night Market

Conveniently located in the heart of the city on Paseo de la Libertad, Torrevieja Night Market is great to visit during an evening stroll along the beachfront promenade. Forming part of central Costa Blanca, the city of Torrevieja is predominantly Spanish with small communities of British and Scandinavian expats, but during the summer months the city's population vastly increases with both Spanish and foreign holidaymakers arriving for some fun in the sun.

Rather than the stalls that make up most street markets, Torrevieja Night Market consists of two rows of small wooden huts lining either side of the lane running from the pier to the Tourist Information Bureau. Behind the lane on the one side is the picturesque marina where during the summer months there is a fun old fashioned amusement park, and on the other side a row of bars and restaurants as well as a lively seating area with a colourful central fountain. It is worth mentioning, next to the fountain is one of the surprisingly few Bureau de Change offices to be found in the city, but this is only open during the day.

Torrevieja Night Market Stalls

Often referred to as the craft or hippy market, here you will find beautiful hand crafted trinkets and jewellery, football and Disney character tops, leather goods, a good selection of hats and caps, arts & crafts such as dream catchers, incense holders, clocks made from old LP's and a great choice of leather bracelets, hair braiding and extensions, sweets, ice cream, slushies and a variety of other cold drinks. Although not a large market, it is pleasant to visit as part of an evening out due to its central beach location. In keeping with its hippy reputation, the market huts tend to open and close when the owners choose, some even opening in the afternoon.

Around Town

All along the beach promenade there is an abundance of shops, boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants, most with outdoor terraces to enjoy the sea breeze and views. The long pier makes for a pleasant evening stroll and for a fantastic night out, Niki Lounge is Torrevieja's premier nightspot with a vibrant atmosphere, lovely decor, restaurant, dance floor and even a swimming pool complete with podium dancers and superb marina views.
