Casa La Pedrera Activity Centre

Situated on the Costa Blanca near the small town of Torremendo and enjoying a stunning lakeside setting, Casa La Pedrera Activity Centre are privileged to have featured on the popular British television series Grand Designs. After completion of the beautifully built villa and the decision to run an activity centre, Casa La Pedrera's popularity soared and it is now a local landmark commonly referred to as the Grand Designs House. With the lake and surrounding countryside being ideal for adventure sports, the owners introduced quad biking which has expanded to other exciting activities as well as events and wedding hosting.

Quad Bike Tours

Quad Bike Family Lake Tour – Casa La Pedrera Activity Centre have considered all age groups for this fun, easy going tour around the lake available for ages 10 and above. Tours are half hour or 1 hour and riders are able to carry a passenger at an additional price.

Quad Bike Lake Tour Plus – There is slightly more challenging terrain and possibilities for higher speeds on this tour available for ages 13 and above. Tours are 1 hour and riders are able to carry a passenger at an additional price.

Quad Bike Lake Tower Tour – A circular tour around the lake and surrounding countryside with a variety of terrain both on and off road available for ages 18 and above (licence required) Tours are 2 hours and riders are able to carry a passenger at an additional price.

Road/Beach/Mountain Tour – This is the ultimate quad bike experience which ventures both on and off road and takes in the mountains of Hurchillo including a stop for a swim in the lake or sea combined with a lakeside picnic or BBQ. Tours are 3 hours, available for ages 18 and above (licence required) and riders are able to carry a passenger at an additional price.

BBQ/Picnic Package – Apart from the half hour tour, all the tours include the option of enjoying a lakeside BBQ or picnic including drinks at an additional charge.

Horse Riding Treks

Casa La Pedrera Activity Centre have a stable of well trained and gentle horses and Shetland ponies, making it possible for riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy treks around the lake and reserve. Children as young as 3 can experience the joys of riding a pony when accompanied by a parent or guardian and there is the chance to pet and groom the horses. More experienced riders will get the chance to trot and canter during the treks.

  • 1/2 hour pony ride in the reserve for the young ones accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • 1/2 hour horse ride in the reserve for all ages
  • 1 hour horse trek in the reserve for all ages
  • 2 hour hack around the reserve for experienced riders only

Further Activities

Kayaking & Canoeing – 3 hours of fun for all the family in a choice of single, double and family kayaks or canoes where you are free to explore the lake and stop for a swim or picnic.

Water skiing – Skiers head of to the famous Mar Menor inland sea for a fun filled day of mono and double water skiing, tubing and snorkelling including a trip to a small island where you can relax and enjoy a picnic.

Archery Practice – Budding Robin Hoods can get to try their hand at hitting the bulls eye after a brief demonstration of stance and technique. Half hour and 1 hour sessions are available and there is the chance to combine archery with air rifle shooting.

Air Rifle Practice – After your instructor has demonstrated the correct way to hold your rifle and stay safe at all times, shooters can enjoy a half hour session on the target range with the chance to combine air rifle shooting with archery.

Events & Services

Horse & Flamenco Show – Held during the mild summer evenings, this spectacular show features two of Spain's most respected show riders and their stunning horses who combine amazing dressage accompanied by a professional troupe of flamenco dancers. A night not to be missed where guests can also enjoy a meal and refreshments.

Tea Garden & Craft Shop – From the tea garden terrace visitors can take in the beautiful views over the lake and countryside while enjoying refreshments and a choice of sweet delights. Casa La Pedrera Activity Centre also has its own craft shop where visitors can browse the superb hand made crafts on show that make for an excellent gift to take back home.

Carnestoltes Fiesta

The week leading up to Lent is a fantastic time to visit Spain for those who enjoy a good fiesta or festival, and is the time when the Costa Blanca town of Pego celebrates its famous Carnestoltes Fiesta.
