Gran Alacant

The small town of Gran Alacant, often referred to as a residential area of nearby Santa Pola, is the ideal holiday destination for visitors wishing to stay in a peaceful seaside location yet close enough to the cities of Torrevieja and Alicante to enjoy their fantastic attractions and nightlife. Aside from attracting tourists, the town is favoured by a large community of Scandinavian expats who have settled in the area. Alicante International Airport is just 10 minutes drive from Gran Alacant and there are good road links to the rest of the Costa Blanca via the National N-332 coastal road and AP-7 motorway.

Beaches & Attractions

Carabassi is the town's main beach that is a lovely 4 kilometre stretch of rolling sand dunes backed by pine forest, perfect for lazy days in the sunshine and cooling evening walks. A further choice of beaches can be found in nearby Santa Pola which also offers excellent water sports, a lively marina, outdoor markets and the Pola Park Funfair.

For a great day out, Santa Pola is the closest point on the Costa Blanca to the popular Tabarca Island, a tourist magnet attracting up to 3,000 visitors per day during the peak summer months and famed for its seafood restaurants. There are regular boat trips to the island and being a protected marine park, it is a good place to visit for snorkelling.

Further Afield

The location of Gran Alacant, between the cities of Torrevieja and Alicante gives visitors a further excellent choice of attractions and entertainment within a short drive. There are miles of golden sand beaches, palm lined promenades, shady parks, historic buildings, museums and art galleries. Water parks, adventure parks, sports centres and shopping complexes are just a few of the daytime activities to be enjoyed in these cities, and when the sun sets over the Mediterranean there are hundreds of bars, restaurants and nightclubs offering superb evening entertainment.

Elda

Located near the foothills of the Serra del Maigmó and Serra del Sit mountain ranges, the town of Elda lies about 30 kilometres inland from Alicante on the banks of the Vinalopó River.
