Fishing Villages Tour

Throughout the Costa Blanca's coastal and inland regions visitors will discover some superb attractions and charming villages where age old traditions are still practised, and those who fancy getting out and about to explore some of these lovely areas should try a fishing villages tour. Most of the popular towns and holiday resorts of the Costa Blanca boast a good range of activities to enjoy, making the need for a hire car not really necessary although it is nice to have the option of visiting other places. Taking a tour enables passengers to just sit back, enjoy the trip, have a few drinks while exploring or eating lunch and not worry about driving.

Mandarinablue Tours are located in Alicante and offer a number of fun and interesting tours to various parts of the Costa Blanca, and a popular choice is their fishing villages tour which takes in the sights of two lovely villages as well as a tour of the Valor Chocolate factory.

Fishing Villages Tour – Starting at around 10:00 passengers are picked up from a variety of locations along the coast before heading to Villajoyosa (joyful town) where your guide will take you along the beach promenade to see the row of colourful fishing cottages that traditionally were painted in bright colours to easily be seen by returning fishermen. You will get to see the historical old town centre before heading to Valor Chocolate Factory for a tour and tasting, an industry that has thrived in the town for over 150 years.

Then it's a short scenic drive to the picturesque village of Altea which the locals like to refer to as the ‘Jewel of the Mediterranean' and rightly so as it is a very pretty place. A spot of lunch and drinks in one of the village restaurants sets you up for a wonder around the steep, winding alleys and cobbled streets where there are wonderful sea and mountain views. Although your guide is there to lead the group and provide information along the way, it's not necessary to remain with the group at all times, so if you fancy heading down to the lovely marina for some photos or stopping in a tapas bar for a drink you are quite welcome to do so.
