Playa Flamenca Beach
The resort area of Orihuela Costa is one of the most popular holiday destinations on the Costa Blanca, and adding to its popularity is the superb Playa Flamenca Beach. The area has been recognised as having the most Blue Flag Awards for its size in the whole of Spain, and thousands of holidaymakers flock to its beaches each year to soak up the glorious sunshine and enjoy the excellent facilities, such as you will find at Playa Flamenca Beach.
Playa Flamenca Beach Amenities
Actually formed by three bays called Cala Cerrada, Cala las Estacas and Cala Mosca that are connected by a picturesque coastal path, each bay offers fine sand flanked by rocky headlands that make Playa Flamenca Beach perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Disabled access is available at each bay and visitors can enjoy a selection of beach sports, water sports and a good choice of drinks and snacks from the cute wooden beach bar that is the hub of the action during the summer months with lively music, entertaining staff and imaginative cocktails.
The beaches are cleaned daily and there are ablutions, showers, parasols, sun loungers, rope climbing frames and volleyball nets. Be sure to take a walk along the coastal path, especially during the cooler evenings when you will get to see some lovely sunsets. The path forms part of the beach promenades but also continues all the way to the neighbouring city of Torrevieja.
Playa Flamenca is one of the most lively areas of Orihuela Costa with several commercial centres boasting shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants. At the high end of the scale is the Lobster Restaurant that has a fantastic front line position overlooking the sea, but there are many more great value bars and restaurants throughout the area featuring menus of the day and favourites such as full English breakfast. If you are visiting on a Saturday morning don't miss the huge Playa Flamenca Market, a highlight of Orihuela Costa.
